حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ الْحَنَفِيُّ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ:
" انْطُلِقَ بِرَجُلٍ إِلَى بَابِ الْجَنَّةِ، فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَإِذَا عَلَى بَابِ الْجَنَّةِ مَكْتُوبٌ: الصَّدَقَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا، وَالْقَرْضُ الْوَاحِدُ بِثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ؛ لِأَنَّ صَاحِبَ الْقَرْضِ لَا يَأْتِيكَ إِلَّا وَهُوَ مُحْتَاجٌ، وَإِنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ رُبَّمَا وُضِعَتْ فِي غَنِيٍّ

✧ "A man was taken to the gate of Paradise, and he raised his head and saw written on the gate of Paradise: 'Charity is [rewarded] tenfold, and a loan is [rewarded] eighteenfold, because the one who takes a loan does not come to you except when he is in need, whereas charity may be given to one who is wealthy.'"
