مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ الصَّوَّافُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى سَعْدٍ، قَالَ:

جِئْتُ بِاللَّيْلِ أَنَا وَسَعْدٌ ؓ إِلَى بُسْتَانٍ ذِي نَخْلٍ، فَطَلَبْنَا صَاحِبَ الْبُسْتَانِ فَلَمْ نَجِدْهُ، فَقَالَ لِي سَعْدٌ ؓ: إِنْ سَرَّكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ مُسْلِمًا حَقًّا، فَلَا تَأْكُلْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا. قَالَ: فَظَلَّيْنَا جَائِعَيْنِ

Translation

✧ I came at night, I and Sa'd ؓ, to a garden with palm trees, and we looked for the owner of the garden but did not find him. Sa'd ؓ said to me: 'If it pleases you to be a true Muslim, then do not eat anything from it.' He said: 'So we remained hungry.'
