✧ Ablution after Eating What Fire Has Touched and the Clarification of Its Abrogation

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، ثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، قَالَ:

أَتَيْتُ أَنَسًا ؓ فَلَمْ أَجِدْهُ، فَقَعَدْتُ حَتَّى جَاءَ، فَجَاءَ وَهُوَ مُغْضَبٌ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَقَالَ: « كُنَّا عِنْدَ هَذَا يَعْنِي الْحَجَّاجَ فَأُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ فَأَكَلُوا، ثُمَّ قَامُوا فَصَلَّوْا وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّؤُوا، فَقُلْتُ: أَوَمَا كُنْتُمْ تَفْعَلُونَ هَذَا ؟ » فَقَالَ: لَا، مَا كُنَّا نَفْعَلُهُ

Translation

✧ I came to Anas ؓ but did not find him, so I sat until he came. He came angry, and I spoke to him. He said: "We were with this one—meaning al-Hajjaj—and food was brought, and they ate, then they stood and prayed without performing ablution. I said: 'Did you not used to do this?' He said: 'No, we did not do it.'"
