✧ Dissolving Hajj into Umrah and Vice Versa, and What Came in the Quran

قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ مَوْلَى الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ:

خَرَجْنَا مَعَ عَلِيٍّ ؓ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ قَالَ: إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَجْمَعَ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ، فَمَنْ أَرَادَ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ كَمَا أَقُولُ، ثُمَّ لَبَّى، فَقَالَ: بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ مَعًا

Translation

✧ We set out with Ali ؓ until when we were at Dhul-Hulayfah, he said: 'I intend to combine Hajj and Umrah. Whoever among you wishes that, let him say as I say.' Then he began the talbiyah, saying: 'For Umrah and Hajj together.'
