✧ Wiping over the Khuffayn

وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ يَرِيمَ بْنِ الْأَسْعَدِ الْخَارِفِيِّ قَالَ:
رَأَيْتُ قَيْسَ بْنَ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ ؓ، وَقَدْ كَانَ خَدَمَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ. قَالَ: « ثُمَّ أَتَى دِجْلَةَ وَعَلَيْهِ خُفَّانِ رَنْدَجَانِ، فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ مَرَّةً، وَقَالَ هَكَذَا بِكَفِّهِ بِأَصَابِعِهِ عَلَى ظَهْرِ خُفَّيْهِ

✧ I saw Qays ibn Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah ؓ, who had served the Prophet ﷺ for ten years. He said: "Then he came to the Tigris wearing two dyed khuffs, performed ablution, and wiped over his khuffs once, and he said like this with his palm, with his fingers on the top of his khuffs."
