I asked ʿUrwa bin Az-Zubair (regarding the Hajj of the Prophet ﷺ ). ʿUrwa replied, "Aisha narrated, 'When the Prophet ﷺ reached Mecca, the first thing he started with was the ablution, then he performed Tawaf of the Kaʿba and his intention was not ʿUmra alone (but Hajj and ʿUmra together).' " Later Abu Bakr I performed the Hajj and the first thing he started with was Tawaf of the Kaʿba and it was not ʿUmra alone (but Hajj and ʿUmra together). And then ʿUmar did the same. Then ʿUthman performed the Hajj and the first thing he started with was Tawaf of the Kaʿba and it was not ʿUmra alone. And then Muawiya and ʿAbdullah bin ʿUmar did the same. I performed Hajj with Ibn Az-Zubair and the first thing he started with was Tawaf of the Kaʿba and it was not ʿUmra alone, (but Hajj and ʿUmra together). Then I saw the Muhajirin (Emigrants) and Ansar doing the same and it was not ʿUmra alone. And the last person I saw doing the same was Ibn ʿUmar, and he did not do another ʿUmra after finishing the first. Now here is Ibn ʿUmar present amongst the people! They neither ask him nor anyone of the previous ones. And all these people, on entering Mecca, would not start with anything unless they had performed Tawaf of the Kaʿba, and would not finish their Ihram. And no doubt, I saw my mother and my aunt, on entering Mecca doing nothing before performing Tawaf of the Kaʿba, and they would not finish their lhram. And my mother informed me that she, her sister, Az-Zubair and such and such persons had assumed lhram for ʿUmra and after passing their hands over the Corner (the Black Stone) (i.e. finishing their Umra) they finished their Ihram."

machine translation, then Abū Bakr (may God be pleased with him) performed Hajj, and the first thing he began with was the circumambulation of the House (ṭawāf), and then it was not made an ʿumrah. Then ʿUmar (may God be pleased with him) did the same. Then ʿUthmān (may God be pleased with him) performed Hajj, and I saw that the first thing he began with was the circumambulation of the House, and then it was not an ʿumrah. Then Muʿāwiyah and ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar. Then I performed Hajj with my father al-Zubayr b. al-ʿAwwām, and the first thing he began with was the circumambulation of the House, and then it was not an ʿumrah. Then I saw the Muhājirūn and the Anṣār doing that, and then it was not an ʿumrah. Then the last one I saw do that was Ibn ʿUmar, and he did not turn it into an ʿumrah. And this is Ibn ʿUmar among them, yet they do not ask him, nor did anyone of those who passed on. They would not begin with anything until they had set their feet to the circumambulation of the House, and then they would not leave the state of iḥrām. And I saw my mother and my aunt: when they arrived, they began with nothing before the House; they circumambulated it, and then they did not leave iḥrām. And my mother informed me that she, her sister, al-Zubayr, and so-and-so and so-and-so entered iḥrām for ʿumrah, and when they had touched the Corner, they left iḥrām.
