What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

machine translationThe narration of the one who transmitted it as a mursal report is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ).

  • Khaṭṭābī

machine translationIt is more firmly established than the hadith about placing the hands first.

  • Khaṭṭābī

machine translationThis is more authentic (aṣaḥḥ) than the hadith of Abū Hurayrah: "When one of you prostrates, let him begin with his knees before his hands, and let him not kneel down like the kneeling of the camel."

  • Aḥmad ibn Shuʿayb al-Nasāʾī

machine translationNo one other than Yazīd b. Hārūn related this from Sharīk.

  • al-Tirmidhi

machine translationA strange (gharīb), good (ḥasan) hadith. We do not know anyone who narrated the like of this hadith other than Sharīk.

    machine translationA strange (gharīb) hadith.

machine translationPlacing the knees before the hands was narrated uniquely by Yazīd from Sharīk, and no one other than Sharīk narrated it from ʿĀṣim, and Sharīk is not strong (qawī) in what he alone narrates.

  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

machine translationThis hadith is counted among the unique narrations (afrād) of Sharīk. Only Hammām corroborated him, and as a mursal report. Thus it was stated by al-Bukhārī and other early memorizers (ḥuffāẓ), and that is the preserved (maḥfūẓ) version.

  • Khaṭṭābī

machine translationThe hadith of Wāʾil is more firmly established than the hadith of placing the hands first.
