حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ فِي مَرَضِهِ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي بِهِمْ فَوَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خِفَّةً فَخَرَجَ وَإِذَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ اسْتَأْخَرَ فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَىْ كَمَا أَنْتَ فَجَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِذَاءَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِصَلاَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَالنَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ بِصَلاَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ
Translation

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer when he was sick, and Abu Bakr used to lead them in prayer. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began to feel a little better, so he came out, and saw Abu Bakr leading the people in prayer. When Abu Bakr saw him, he stepped back, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gestured to him to stay where he was. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat beside Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr was following the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the people were following the prayer of Abu Bakr.”

أخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن عبد المؤمن قال حدثنا عبد الحميد بن أحمد الوراق قال حدثنا الخضر بن داود قال حدثنا أبو بكر الأثرم قال حدثنا عبد الله بن رجاء قال أخبرنا إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن أرقم بن شرحبيل قال سافرت مع ابن عباس من المدينة إلى الشام فسألته أكان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أوصى فقال إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لما مرض مرضه الذي مات فيه فذكر حديثا طويلا وفيه قال ليصل للناس أبو بكر فتقدم أبو بكر فصلى بالناس ورأى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من نفسه خفة فخرج يهادي بين رجلين فلما أحس به الناس سبحوا فذهب أبو بكر يتأخر فأشار إليه بيده مكانك فاستفتح رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من حيث انتهى أبو بكر من القراءة وأبو بكر قائم ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم جالس فائتم أبو بكر برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وائتم الناس بأبي بكر فهذا حديث صحيح عن ابن عباس يعضد ما رواه عروة وغيره عن عائشة ولو انفرد لكان فيه كفاية وغنى عن غيره والحمد لله وأرقم بن شرحبيل هذا هو أخو هذيل بن شرحبيل وأخو عمرو بن شرحبيل أبي ميسرة ثقة جليل ذكر العقيلي عن محمد بن إسماعيل الصائغ عن الحسن بن علي الحلواني عن أبي أسامة عن إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق قال كان أرقم بن شرحبيل أخو أبي ميسرة من أشراف الناس وخيارهم

روى الثقات الحفاظ أن أبا بكر كان خلف رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي بصلاته والناس قيام يصلون بصلاة أبي بكر فهذه زيادة حافظ وصف الحال وأتى بالحديث على وجهه
machine translationThe trustworthy (thiqāt) memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) narrated that Abū Bakr was behind the Messenger of God ﷺ, praying with his prayer, while the people stood praying with the prayer of Abū Bakr. This is an addition from a memorizer (ḥāfiẓ) who described the situation and brought the hadith in its proper form.
