machine translationʿAbdullāh b. Munayn is not to be relied upon as proof.
in سنن ابن ماجه, p. 1109 - Ibn al-Qaṭṭān
machine translationThat is because of his being unknown (jahālah), meaning the statement of ʿAbd al-Ḥaqq: ʿAbdullāh b. Munayn is not to be relied upon as proof, for he is not known; none narrated from him except al-Ḥārith b. Saʿīd al-ʿUtaqī, and he is a man whose condition is not known. So because of him the hadith is not authentic (ṣaḥīḥ).
in سنن ابن ماجه, p. 1109 - Abū Zakariyyā Yaḥyá b. Sharaf al-Nawawī

machine translationIbn al-Qaṭṭān graded it weak (ḍaʿīf).
in سنن ابن ماجه, p. 1109 - Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī
machine translationIn it is ʿAbdullāh b. Munayn, who is unknown (majhūl), and the one who narrates from him is al-Ḥārith b. Saʿīd al-ʿUtaqī, who is also not known.
machine translationHe declared it weak (ḍaʿīf) in his Aḥkām because of ʿAbdullāh b. Munayn, saying: ʿAbdullāh b. Munayn is not to be relied upon as proof.
in سنن ابن ماجه, p. 1109 - Ibn al-Qaṭṭān
machine translationAl-Ḥārith b. Saʿīd al-ʿUtaqī narrated from him, and he is the one by whom the hadith is declared defective, because he is a man whose condition is not known. Ibn Lahīʿah and Nāfiʿ b. Yazīd also narrated from him; Ibn Yūnus mentioned this in his History of Egypt. So because of him the hadith is not authentic (ṣaḥīḥ), even if Ibn Munayn were known.
in سنن ابن ماجه, p. 1109 - ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Jawzī

machine translationAl-Nawawī graded it good (ḥasan).

in سنن ابن ماجه, p. 1109 - Abū Daʾūd
machine translationAbū Dāwūd was silent about it, and that implies that it is good (ḥasan) or authentic (ṣaḥīḥ) in his view.
in سنن ابن ماجه, p. 1109 - Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥākim
machine translationThis is a hadith whose narrators are Egyptians, most of whom the two Shaykhs have relied upon as proof. There is none more complete than it regarding the number of prostrations of the Quran.
in سنن ابن ماجه, p. 1109 - Abū Zakariyyā Yaḥyá b. Sharaf al-Nawawī
