أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى السَّامِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
تُعَادُ الصَّلَاةُ مِنْ مَمَرِّ الْحِمَارِ، وَالْمَرْأَةِ، وَالْكَلْبِ الْأَسْوَدِ قُلْتُ: مَا بَالُ الْأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْكَلْبِ الْأَصْفَرِ، مِنَ الْكَلْبِ الْأَحْمَرِ ؟ فَقَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي، فَقَالَ: " الْكَلْبُ الْأَسْوَدُ شَيْطَانٌ

✧ The prayer is repeated due to the passing of a donkey, a woman, or a black dog. I said: What is the difference between the black dog and the yellow, the red? He said: I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ just as you asked me, and he said: The black dog is a devil.

machine translationʿAbdullāh b. al-Ṣāmit, the nephew of Abū Dharr al-Ghifārī, has some weakness (layyin) in him, and likewise al-Bukhārī turned away from his hadith. Abū Ḥātim said: his hadith may be written down.
