أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُدَامَةَ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، ( ح ) وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّقَفِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ أَفْلَحَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ:
أُمِرْنَا أَنْ نُسَبِّحَ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ، وَنَحْمَدَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ، وَنُكَبِّرَهُ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ، فَأُتِيَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فِي نَوْمِهِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ: أَمَرَكُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ " أَنْ تُسَبِّحُوا فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ كَذَا وَكَذَا ؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: " فَاجْعَلُوهَا خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ، وَاجْعَلُوا فِيهِ التَّهْلِيلَ "، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " فَافْعَلُوا " هَذَا حَدِيثُ الثَّقَفِيِّ. وَقَالَ أَبُو قُدَامَةَ: فَأُتِيَ رَجُلٌ فِي مَنَامِهِ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: أَمَرَكُمْ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ أَنْ تُسَبِّحُوا فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ، وَتَحْمَدَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ، وَتُكَبِّرَهُ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ ؟ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ

✧ We were commanded to glorify Allah after every prayer thirty-three times, praise Him thirty-three times, and magnify Him thirty-four times. Then a man from the Ansar was approached in his sleep and it was said to him: 'Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ command you to glorify Allah after every prayer such and such?' He said: 'Yes.' It was said: 'Make them twenty-five, and include the tahlil in them.' When morning came, he went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do so.' This is the hadith of al-Thaqafi. Abu Qudamah said: A man was approached in his sleep and it was said to him: 'Did Muhammad ﷺ command you to glorify Allah after every prayer thirty-three times, praise Him thirty-three times, and magnify Him thirty-four times?' He said: 'Yes.'
