✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, teach me something that will suffice me from the Qur'an, for I cannot recite. He said: “Say: Subhan Allah, wal-hamdu lillah, wa la ilaha illa Allah, wa Allahu Akbar, wa la ilaha illa Allah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.” He said: The man clenched his hand over them and said: This is for my Lord, so what is for me? He said: “Say: Allahumma ighfir li, warhamni, wahdini, warzuqni, wa 'afini.” He said: He clenched his other hand over them and stood up. This is the hadith of al-Makhzumi. And Harun said in his hadith: He said: Teach me something that will suffice me from the Qur'an, and he did not say: The man clenched his hand over them. And he said at the end of the hadith: Mis'ar said: I was with Ibrahim while he was narrating this hadith and I sought confirmation from him.
