Translation
✧ And the report of Ka'b b. Malik about the departure of the Ansar from Madinah to Makkah for the pledge at al-ʿAqabah. And it was mentioned in the report that al-Bara' b. Ma'rur said to the Prophet ﷺ: I set out on this journey of mine, and Allah had guided me to Islam. I saw that I should not place this house (the Ka'bah) behind my back, so I prayed toward it. My companions opposed me in that until something of that entered my heart. What do you think? He said: You were upon a qiblah if you had remained patient on it. He said: So al-Bara' returned to the qiblah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and prayed with us toward Syria.
