✧ Harami b. Umarah narrated to us from Shu'bah the hadith in full. Abu Bakr said: This report indicates the claim of the Iraqis that when someone acknowledges before a judge that he owes another between one dirham and ten dirhams, he owes eight dirhams. They made this absurdity from statements a long chapter and derived many issues based on this error. Their argument leads to the conclusion that Jibril ﷺ prayed with the Prophet ﷺ the five prayers during the two days and nights outside their proper times, because their reasoning implies that the times of prayer are between the first time and the second time, and that the first and second times are outside the time of prayer, just as they claim that the dirham and ten are outside what the acknowledger acknowledged, and that eight is between one dirham and ten. I have dictated a long discussion of this kind.
