✧ There were two brothers in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and one of them was more virtuous than the other. The more virtuous one died, then the other lived forty nights after him and then died. The virtue of the first over the other was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he said: "Was he not praying?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, and he was fine." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "So what makes you know how far his prayer took him? The likeness of prayer is only like a flowing river of abundant sweet water at a man's door, into which he plunges five times every day. What do you think that leaves of his dirt? You do not know how far his prayer took him."
