أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَقِيهُ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُسْلِمِ السُّلَمِيُّ، [قَالَ ]: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ إِجَازَةً، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الْأُسْتَاذُ الْإِمَامُ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الصَّابُونِيُّ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ، [قَالَ ]: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي، [قَالَ ]: أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ، وَاللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، قَالَ:

كَانَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَدِيفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، قَالَ: فَأَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ تَسْتَفْتِيهِ، قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ الْفَضْلُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا وَتَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ، قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ يَصْرِفُ وَجْهَ الْفَضْلِ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الشِّقِّ الْآخَرِ، قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللهِ فِي الْحَجِّ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَثْبُتَ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ، أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ. وَذَلِكَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ

✧ Al-Fadl b. 'Abbas was riding behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: A woman from Khath'am came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking his ruling. He said: Al-Fadl began to look at her and she at him. He said: He began to turn al-Fadl's face with his hand to the other side. She said: O Messenger of Allah, the obligation of Allah for Hajj upon His servants has found my father an old man who cannot remain steady on the mount; shall I perform Hajj on his behalf? He said: Yes. And that was in the Farewell Pilgrimage.
