✧ A bedouin came to the water provision area and drank some nabidh. He said, 'What is the matter with the people of this house that they serve nabidh, while their cousins serve milk and honey? Is it out of stinginess or need?' Ibn 'Abbas said, and this was after he had lost his sight: 'Bring the man to me.' So he was brought. He said, 'We have no need and no stinginess, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque while he was on his camel, behind him Usamah b. Zayd, and he asked for water, so we gave him nabidh to drink and he drank. Then he handed the remainder to Usamah and said, "You have done well and acted beautifully. Do likewise." So we do not wish to change that.'
