✧ The Ansar, before they accepted Islam, together with Ghassan, used to enter ihram for Manat, and they felt uneasy about performing Tawaf between Safa and Marwa. That was a Sunnah in their days: whoever entered ihram for Manat did not perform Tawaf between Safa and Marwa. When they accepted Islam, they asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: 'Indeed, Safa and Marwa are among the symbols of Allah' up to His saying: 'All-Knowing, All-Aware' (Quran 2:158). 'Urwah said: 'A'ishah said: It is a Sunnah established by the Messenger of Allah.
