✧ We went out with the Messenger of God ﷺ as pilgrims, and the riding camel of the Messenger of God ﷺ and the riding camel of Abu Bakr were one and the same. We stopped at al-‘Arj, and our camel was with the slave of Abu Bakr. She said: The Messenger of God ﷺ sat down, and ‘A’ishah sat beside him, and Abu Bakr sat on the other side of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and I sat beside my father, waiting for his slave and our camel – when would he come to us. Then the slave appeared walking, without his camel. She said: Abu Bakr said to him, “Where is your camel?” He said, “It strayed from me last night.” She said: Abu Bakr got up and began to beat him, saying, “One camel, and you lost it, and you are a man?” The Messenger of God ﷺ did nothing more than smile and say, “Look at this muhrim, and what he is doing.”
