✧ I wished that I could see the Messenger of God ﷺ when revelation descends upon him. When we were at al-Ji'ranah, a man came to him wearing cut garments and smeared with khaluq perfume. He said: "I have entered ihram for umrah, and I am wearing this, so what should I do?" The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him: "How would you act in your hajj?" He said: "I would take off these clothes and wash it off." He said: "Then do in your umrah what you do in your hajj." He said: And revelation descended upon him, and he was covered with a garment. Umar called me, and he uncovered the garment for me, and I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ snoring with his face red. This is the hadith of Abd al-Jabbar. Al-Makhzumi said: We were with the Prophet ﷺ at al-Ji'ranah, and I had said to Umar: "I wish I could see the Messenger of God ﷺ," and he said: "And wash off this khaluq from me."
