✧ Ya'la b. Umayyah said to Umar: "How I wish I could see the Prophet ﷺ when revelation descends upon him." So when he was at al-Ji'ranah, with a garment shading him and with him some of his companions in it, a man came to him who had smeared himself with perfume. He said: "O Messenger of God, what do you think of a man who entered ihram in a jubba after smearing himself with perfume?" He said: He looked at him for a while, then revelation came down upon him. Umar sent to Ya'la: "Come." So he came and put his head in, and there was his face red like that for a while, then it was relieved from him. Then he said: "Where is the one who asked me about the umrah just now?" The man was sought, and the Prophet ﷺ gave an order concerning him, saying: "As for the perfume that is on you, wash it off three times. As for the jubba, take it off. Then do in your umrah what you do in your hajj."
