✧ It reached 'A'ishah that 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr b. al-'As commanded his women to undo their hair when they took a bath from janabah. She said: How astonishing for this Ibn 'Amr! He has burdened them with toil. Why does he not command them to shave their heads? I and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to take a bath from one vessel, putting our hands into it together, and I never added more than three handfuls. Or she said: Three scoops. This is the hadith of 'Abd al-Warith. In the report of Ibn 'Ulayyah, the words "putting our hands into it together" are not present. She said in it: I never added more than three pourings of water over my head.
