✧ A Muslim Bidding Farewell to His Brother When Intending to Travel

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْقَاسِمَ يَقُولُ:
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: أَرَدْتُ سَفَرًا، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: انْتَظِرْ حَتَّى أُوَدِّعَكَ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوَدِّعُنَا: أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللهَ دِينَكَ وَأَمَانَتَكَ وَخَوَاتِيمَ عَمَلِكَ

✧ I was with Ibn ʿUmar, and a man came to him and said: I intend to travel. ʿAbd Allāh said: Wait until I bid you farewell as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to bid us farewell: I entrust to Allah your religion, your trust, and the final deeds of your life.
