✧ The first charity given in Islam was the charity of Umar b. al-Khattab. Umar said to the Messenger of God ﷺ, 'I have property, and I want to give it as charity.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said, 'Make its principal inalienable and dedicate its produce as a charitable endowment.'
