حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، وَزَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ الطَّائِيُّ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حُبْشِيُّ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ السَّلُولِيُّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

مَنْ سَأَلَ وَلَهُ مَا يُغْنِيهِ فَإِنَّمَا يَأْكُلُ الْجَمْرَ. وَقَالَ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ: " مَنْ سَأَلَ مِنْ غَيْرِ فَقْرٍ، فَإِنَّمَا يَأْكُلُ الْجَمْرَ ".

✧ Whoever asks while he has what suffices him only consumes embers. Zayd b. Akhzam said: "Whoever asks without poverty only consumes embers."
