وَحَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، [قَالَ ]: أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ - ﷺ

كَانَ يُعْطِي ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، فَيَقُولُ عُمَرُ: أَعْطِهِ أَفْقَرَ إِلَيْهِ مِنِّي، فَقَالَ: " خُذْهُ فَتَمَوَّلْهُ، أَوْ تَصَدَّقْ

Translation

✧ He used to give to Ibn al-Khattab, and Umar would say, "Give it to someone poorer than me." He said, "Take it, and either keep it as wealth or give it in charity."
