حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ:

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ مِنْ مَعَادِنِ الْقَبَلِيَّةِ الصَّدَقَةَ، وَأَنَّهُ أَقْطَعَ بِلَالَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ الْعَقِيقَ أَجْمَعَ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ عُمَرُ قَالَ لِبِلَالٍ: " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يُقْطِعْكَ لِتَحْجِزَهُ عَنِ النَّاسِ، لَمْ يُقْطِعْكَ إِلَّا لِتَعْمَلَ " قَالَ: فَقَطَعَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ لِلنَّاسِ الْعَقِيقَ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ took alms from the mines of al-Qabaliyyah, and he granted Bilāl b. al-Ḥārith the entire ʿAqīq. When ʿUmar came, he said to Bilāl: "The Messenger of God ﷺ did not grant it to you to withhold it from the people; he granted it to you only to work it." He said: So ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb distributed the ʿAqīq to the people.
