✧ And time passed from that until the governorship of Mu'awiyah b. Abi Sufyan, who appointed Marwan b. al-Hakam over Madinah. He sent me as a zakat collector over Bali and 'Udhrah and all of Banu Sa'd b. Hudhaym of Quda'ah. He said: I passed by that man, now an old man among his wealth, and I collected from him thirty hiqqahs [three-year-old she-camels], including their stud, from one thousand five hundred camels. Ibn Ishaq said: We see that 'Umarah did not take the stud along with them except in a year when a man's zakat reached thirty hiqqahs, in which case the stud would be added to them.
