✧ The collective chapters on the severity of withholding zakat

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ جَامِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ لَا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاتَهُ، إِلَّا جُعِلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعٌ طُوِّقَ فِي عُنُقِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ". ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ: سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

Translation

✧ No man fails to pay its zakat except that a snake is made for him on the Day of Resurrection, coiled around his neck on the Day of Resurrection.' Then the Prophet ﷺ recited to us its confirmation from the Book of God: 'They will be collared with what they withheld on the Day of Resurrection.'
