حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ عُمَرُ يَسْأَلُنِي مَعَ الْأَكَابِرِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ: لَا تَكَلَّمْ حَتَّى يَتَكَلَّمُوا، فَسَأَلَهُمْ عَنْ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ، فَقَالَ: لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: " اطْلُبُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ وِتْرًا

✧ Umar used to ask me along with the elders of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he would say: Do not speak until they speak. So he asked them about Laylat al-Qadr and said: You know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Seek it in the last ten, on odd nights."
