أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، وَشُعَيْبًا، أَخْبَرَاهُمْ، قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنْ أَبِي مُرَّةَ، مَوْلَى عَقِيلٍ

أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ هُوَ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ عَلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ وَذَلِكَ الْغَدَ أَوْ بَعْدَ الْغَدِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْأَضْحَى، فَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِمْ عَمْرٌو طَعَامًا، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَمْرٌو: أَفْطِرْ، فَإِنَّ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامَ الَّتِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُ بِفِطْرِهَا، وَيَنْهَى عَنْ صِيَامِهَا، فَأَفْطَرَ عَبْدُ اللهِ، فَأَكَلَ وَأَكَلْتُ مَعَهُ

Translation

✧ He and ‘Abd Allāh entered upon ‘Amr b. al-‘Āṣ on the day after or the day after the day after the day of sacrifice. ‘Amr brought food near to them, and ‘Abd Allāh said: “I am fasting.” ‘Amr said to him: “Break your fast, for these are the days that the Messenger of God ﷺ commanded to break fast and forbade fasting on them.” So ‘Abd Allāh broke his fast, ate, and I ate with him.
