رَوَاهُ أَبُو الْمُطَرِّفِ بْنُ أَبِي الْوَزِيرِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنَا عُلَيْلَةُ بِنْتُ أُمَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَمَةِ اللهِ وَهِيَ بِنْتُ رَزِينَةَ قَالَتْ:

قُلْتُ لِأُمِّي: أَسَمِعْتِ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي عَاشُورَاءَ ؟ قَالَتْ: كَانَ يُعَظِّمُهُ، وَيَدْعُو بِرُضَعَائِهِ وَرُضَعَاءِ فَاطِمَةَ، فَيَتْفُلُ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ، وَيَأْمُرُ أُمَّهَاتِهِنَّ أَلَّا يُرْضِعْنَ إِلَى اللَّيْلِ

Translation

✧ I said to my mother: 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [say anything] about Ashura?' She said: 'He used to venerate it, and he would call for his suckling infants and the suckling infants of Fatimah, and he would put saliva in their mouths, and he would command their mothers not to breastfeed them until nightfall.'
