حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي سُمَيٌّ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ سُمَيٍّ، وَحَدَّثَنِي سُمَيٌّ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ

أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ. قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: فَذَهَبْتُ مَعَ أَبِي، فَسَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُدْرِكُهُ الصُّبْحُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ فَيَصُومُ

✧ Mu'awiyah sent 'Abd al-Rahman b. al-Harith to 'A'ishah. Abu Bakr said: I went with my father and heard 'A'ishah saying: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would be overtaken by dawn while junub, and he would fast.
