حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ - وَعَقَدَ إِبْهَامَهُ - فَلَا تَصُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْهُ، وَلَا تُفْطِرُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْهُ، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْدُرُوا لَهُ
Translation

✧ The month is twenty-nine — and he folded his thumb — so do not fast until you see it, and do not break fast until you see it. If it is overcast for you, then estimate for it.
