✧ The collective chapters on the new moons and the time of the beginning of the fast of Ramadan

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِنَّ اللهَ جَعَلَ الْأَهِلَّةَ مَوَاقِيتَ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَصُومُوا، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْدُرُوا لَهُ، وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الشَّهْرَ لَا يَزِيدُ عَلَى ثَلَاثِينَ

✧ Allah has made the new moons as appointed times, so when you see it, fast, and when you see it, break your fast. If it is obscured from you, then estimate for it, and know that the month does not exceed thirty.
