✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us on the last day of Sha'ban and said: "O people, a great month has overshadowed you, a blessed month, a month in which there is a night better than a thousand months. Allah has made its fasting obligatory and its night prayer voluntary. Whoever draws near in it with a good quality is like one who performs an obligatory act in other than it, and whoever performs an obligatory act in it is like one who performs seventy obligatory acts in other than it. It is the month of patience, and the reward of patience is Paradise. It is the month of consolation, and a month in which the provision of the believer increases. Whoever provides iftar to a fasting person in it, it will be forgiveness for his sins and release of his neck from the Fire, and he will have the like of his reward without any diminution from his reward." They said: "Not all of us find what to provide iftar to a fasting person." He said: "Allah gives this reward to one who provides iftar to a fasting person with a date, or a drink of water, or a sip of milk. It is a month whose beginning is mercy, its middle forgiveness, and its end release from the Fire. Whoever lightens the burden of his slave, Allah will forgive him and release him from the Fire. Increase in it four qualities: two by which you please your Lord, and two which you cannot do without. As for the two by which you please your Lord: bearing witness that there is no god but Allah, and seeking His forgiveness. As for the two which you cannot do without: asking Allah for Paradise and seeking refuge in Him from the Fire. Whoever satisfies a fasting person in it, Allah will give him a drink from my pond, a drink after which he will not thirst until he enters Paradise."
