أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ
أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ، دَخَلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَمَرْوَانُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ يَخْطُبُ، فَقَامَ يُصَلِّي، فَجَاءَ الْأَحْرَاسُ لِيُجْلِسُوهُ، فَأَبَى حَتَّى صَلَّى، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ مَرْوَانُ أَتَيْنَاهُ، فَقُلْنَا لَهُ: يَرْحَمُكَ اللهُ، إِنْ كَادُوا لَيَفْعَلُونَ بِكَ. قَالَ: مَا كُنْتُ لِأَتْرُكَهُمَا بَعْدَ شَيْءٍ رَأَيْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ. ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ فِي هَيْئَةٍ بَذَّةٍ، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ [النَّاسَ] أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقُوا، فَأَلْقَوْا ثِيَابًا، فَأَمَرَ لَهُ بِثَوْبَيْنِ، وَأَمَرَهُ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ الْأُخْرَى، وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقُوا، فَأَلْقَى الرَّجُلُ أَحَدَ ثَوْبَيْهِ، فَصَاحَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، أَوْ زَجَرَهُ، وَقَالَ: " خُذْ ثَوْبَكَ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّ هَذَا دَخَلَ فِي هَيْئَةٍ بَذَّةٍ، فَأَمَرْتُ النَّاسَ أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقُوا، فَأَلْقَوْا ثِيَابًا، فَأَمَرْتُ لَهُ بِثَوْبَيْنِ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْيَوْمَ فَأَمَرْتُ أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقُوا، فَأَلْقَى هَذَا أَحَدَ ثَوْبَيْهِ "، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ

✧ Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī entered on Friday while Marwān b. al-Ḥakam was delivering the sermon, and he stood to pray. The guards came to make him sit down, but he refused until he had prayed. When Marwān finished, we went to him and said, "May Allah have mercy on you, they almost did something to you." He said, "I would not leave them after something I saw from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Then he mentioned that a man came on Friday while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was preaching in a shabby condition, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded the people to give charity, and they threw clothes. He ordered two garments for him and ordered him to pray two rakʿahs while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was preaching. Then the next Friday came, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was preaching, so he commanded the people to give charity. The man threw one of his two garments, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ shouted at him or rebuked him and said, "Take your garment." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This man entered in a shabby condition, so I commanded the people to give charity, and they threw clothes. I ordered two garments for him. Then he entered today, and I commanded the people to give charity, so this man threw one of his two garments." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him to pray two rakʿahs.
