أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ:

كَانَ [رَسُولُ اللهِ] ﷺ لَا يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ دُعَائِهِ أَوْ عِنْدَ شَيْءٍ مِنْ دُعَائِهِ إِلَّا فِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not raise his hands in any of his supplications, or during any of his supplications, except in seeking rain; for he would raise his hands until the whiteness of his armpits could be seen.
