✧ A man entered the mosque on Friday from a gate that was near the court building while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was standing on the minbar delivering a sermon. He faced the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while standing, then said: "O Messenger of Allah, wealth has been destroyed and the roads have been cut off. Supplicate to Allah to send us rain." He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hands, then said: "O Allah, send us rain. O Allah, send us rain. O Allah, send us rain." Anas said: "By Allah, we saw no cloud in the sky, nor any wisp of cloud, and there was no house or dwelling between us and Sal'." Then a cloud like a shield appeared from behind it, and when it reached the middle of the sky, it spread, and then it rained. Anas said: "By Allah, we did not see the sun for seven days." He said: Then a man entered from that gate the following Friday while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was standing delivering a sermon. He faced him while standing and said: "O Messenger of Allah, wealth has been destroyed and the roads have been cut off. Supplicate to Allah to withhold it from us." He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hands, then said: "O Allah, around us and not upon us. O Allah, on the hills and the small mountains, and the bottoms of the valleys and the places where trees grow." He said: It cleared, and we went out walking in the sun.
