✧ He spent the night at the house of Maymuna, the Mother of the Believers, who was his maternal aunt. I lay down across the width of the cushion, and the Messenger of God ﷺ and his wife lay along its length. He slept until the middle of the night, or a little before or after it. The Messenger of God ﷺ woke up and sat up, wiping his face with his hand. Then he recited the ten closing verses of Surah Al 'Imran. Then he went to a hanging water-skin, performed ablution from it, and did his ablution well. Then he stood to pray. Ibn 'Abbas said: I got up and stood beside him. The Messenger of God ﷺ placed his right hand on my head and took hold of my right ear and twisted it. He prayed two rak'as, then two light rak'as. Then he went out and prayed the dawn prayer.
