✧ We came with the Messenger of God ﷺ until when we were at al-Suqya or at al-Qaha, he said: Is there a man who will go to the pool of al-Uthaya, repair it with mud, draw water into it, and draw for us into our water-skins until we come to it? I said: I am a man. Jabir b. Sakhr said: I am a man. So we set out on foot until we reached it in the evening. We repaired the pool with mud and drew water into it. Then we laid our heads down until the night grew dark. A man came and stood at the pool, his she-camel pulling him toward the pool while he pulled her reins, then he said: "Do you two permit me to water my camel?" And behold, it was the Messenger of God ﷺ, so we said: Yes, may our fathers and mothers be ransomed for you. He let her loose, and she drank until she was satisfied. Then Jabir b. 'Abd Allah said to us: He came near and made his camel kneel at the stony ground at al-'Arj. He went out to relieve himself, and I poured water for his ablution, and he performed ablution. He wrapped himself in his waist-wrapper, and I stood on his left. He placed me on his right. Then another man came and stood on his left. The Messenger of God ﷺ stepped forward and prayed, and we prayed with him thirteen rak'as including witr.
