✧ While I was in Madinah in the mosque in the front row standing in prayer, a man pulled me from behind with a strong pull, moved me aside, and stood in my place. He said: By Allah, I could not focus on my prayer. When he finished, it was Ubayy b. Ka'b, and he said: "O young man, may Allah not displease you. This is a covenant from the Prophet ﷺ to us that we should stand closest to him." Then he faced the qiblah and said: "Perish the people of the knot, by the Lord of the Ka'bah" - three times - then said: "By Allah, I do not grieve for them, but I grieve for those whom they have led astray." He said: I said: "Whom do you mean by this?" He said: "The rulers."
