✧ The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ on a very hot day. He prayed with his companions, prolonging the standing until they began to fall down. Then he bowed and prolonged it, then raised his head and prolonged it, then prostrated twice, then stood and did something similar. It was four bowings and four prostrations. Then he said, 'Everything you are promised was shown to me.' And he mentioned the hadith at length, and said, 'They used to say that the sun and the moon do not eclipse except for the death of a great person, but they are two signs among the signs of God that He shows you. So when they eclipse, pray until it clears.'
