حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

مَا مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَلَا أُنْثَى إِلَّا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ جَرِيرٌ مَعْقُودٌ حِينَ يَرْقُدُ، فَإِنِ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَذَكَرَ اللهَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ، فَإِذَا قَامَ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَصَلَّى انْحَلَّتِ الْعُقَدُ

Translation

✧ There is no male or female but has a rope tied on his head when he sleeps. If he wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot is loosened. If he gets up, performs wudu, and prays, the knots are loosened.
