✧ They went out with the Messenger of God ﷺ in the year of Tabuk, and the Messenger of God ﷺ used to combine Zuhr and Asr, and Maghrib and Isha. He said: One day he delayed the prayer, then came out and prayed Zuhr and Asr together. Then he entered, then came out and prayed Maghrib and Isha together. Then he said: 'You will come tomorrow, God willing, to the spring of Tabuk, and you will not reach it until the day is bright. Whoever reaches it should not touch any of its water until I come.' He said: We reached it while two men had already preceded us to it, and the spring was like a shoelace, trickling with a little water. The Messenger of God ﷺ asked them: 'Have you touched any of its water?' They said: 'Yes.' He rebuked them, and said to them whatever God willed to say. Then they scooped water from the spring with their hands, little by little, until it gathered in something. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ washed his face and hands in it, then poured it back into it, and the spring flowed with abundant water, and the people drew water. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Soon, O Muadh, if you live long, you will see this place filled with gardens.'
