أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ:

أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ إِذَا كَانَ بِمَكَّةَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَجْمَعَهُ إِمَامٌ فَيُصَلِّيَ بِصَلَاتِهِ، فَإِنْ جَمَعَهُ الْإِمَامُ يُصَلِّي بِصَلَاتِهِ

Translation

✧ When Ibn Umar was in Makkah, he would pray two rak'ahs, two rak'ahs, unless an imam gathered the people, in which case he would pray with the imam. If the imam gathered the people, he would pray with him.
