أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ اللَّيْثِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ - عَنْ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ: إِنَّا نَجِدُ صَلَاةَ الْحَضَرِ وَصَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فِي الْقُرْآنِ، وَلَا نَجِدُ صَلَاةَ السَّفَرِ فِي الْقُرْآنِ ؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: يَا ابْنَ أَخِي، إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَعَثَ إِلَيْنَا مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ، وَلَا نَعْلَمُ شَيْئًا، فَإِنَّمَا نَفْعَلُ كَمَا رَأَيْنَا مُحَمَّدًا ﷺ يَفْعَلُ

✧ He said to Abdullah b. Umar: We find in the Qur'an the prayer of residence and the prayer of fear, but we do not find the prayer of travel in the Qur'an. Abdullah said: O son of my brother, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, sent Muhammad ﷺ to us while we knew nothing, so we only do as we saw Muhammad ﷺ do.
