Sirat Ibn Hisham 992
The day of Uḥud was a day of trial
Translation
✧ Ibn Isḥāq said: The day of Uḥud was a day of trial, affliction, and purification, by which God tested the believers and tried the hypocrites—those who professed faith with their tongues but hid disbelief in their hearts—and a day on which God honored whomever He willed to honor with martyrdom from among the people of His friendship.
