The Messenger's funeral prayer for Ḥamza and the slain
[ صَلَاةُ الرَّسُولِ عَلَى حَمْزَةَ وَالْقَتْلَى ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي مَنْ لَا أَتَّهِمُ عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِحَمْزَةِ فَسُجِّيَ بِبُرْدَةِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ، فَكَبَّرَ سَبْعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ، ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِالْقَتْلَى فَيُوضَعُونَ إلَى حَمْزَةَ، فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِمْ وَعَلَيْهِ مَعَهُمْ، حَتَّى صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ثِنْتَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ صَلَاةً
Translation
✧ [The Messenger's prayer over Ḥamzah and the slain] Ibn Isḥāq said: And he whom I do not distrust narrated to me from Miqsam, the mawlā of ʿAbd Allāh b. al-Ḥārith, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said: The Messenger of God ﷺ gave orders concerning Ḥamzah, and he was covered with a burdah; then he prayed over him, saying seven takbīrs. Then the slain were brought and placed beside Ḥamzah, and he prayed over them and over him together with them, until he had prayed over him seventy-two prayers.
