The number of Aws who were present at Badr
[ مِنْ بَنِي عَدِيِّ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي عَدِيِّ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ، ثُمَّ مِنْ ( بَنِي ) عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ حَارِثَةُ بْنُ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ وَهْبِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَامِرٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو حَكِيمٍ، وَسَلِيطُ بْنُ قَيْسِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَتِيكِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، وَأَبُو سَلِيطٍ، وَهُوَ أُسَيْرَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، وَعَمْرُو أَبُو خَارِجَةَ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَامِرٍ؛ وَثَابِتُ بْنُ خَنْسَاءَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، وَعَامِرُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَسْحَاسِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، وَمُحْرِزُ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَامِرٍ وَسَوَادُ بْنُ غَزِيَّةَ بْنِ أُهَيْبٍ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ. ثَمَانِيَةُ نَفَرٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ: سَوَّادٌ
Translation
✧ [From Banū ʿAdī b. al-Najjār] And from Banū ʿAdī b. al-Najjār, then from (Banū) ʿAdī b. ʿĀmir b. Ghanm b. al-Najjār: Ḥārithah b. Surāqah b. al-Ḥārith b. ʿAdī b. Mālik b. ʿAdī b. ʿĀmir; and ʿAmr b. Thaʿlabah b. Wahb b. ʿAdī b. Mālik b. ʿAdī b. ʿĀmir, and he is Abū Ḥakīm; and Sulayṭ b. Qays b. ʿAmr b. ʿAtīk b. Mālik b. ʿAdī b. ʿĀmir; and Abū Sulayṭ, and he is Usayrah b. ʿAmr; and ʿAmr Abū Khārijah b. Qays b. Mālik b. ʿAdī b. ʿĀmir; and Thābit b. Khansāʾ b. ʿAmr b. Mālik b. ʿAdī b. ʿĀmir; and ʿĀmir b. Umayyah b. Zayd b. al-Ḥasḥās b. Mālik b. ʿAdī b. ʿĀmir; and Muḥriz b. ʿĀmir b. Mālik b. ʿAdī b. ʿĀmir; and Sawād b. Ghaziyyah b. Uhayb, an ally of theirs from Balī. Eight persons. Ibn Hishām said: It is also said: Sawwād.
